What is a PawTag?

A PawTag is a pet ID tag with a QR code on it that hangs from your pet's collar. It points at your pet's online profile, which you can change whenever you like without ever changing the tag.

One scan is enough

Whoever finds your pet scans the QR code with their ordinary phone camera and the profile opens in their browser. No app, no account, no sign-up.

Always current

New phone number, or moved house? You change it in the profile and the tag is up to date immediately. An engraved tag carries whatever it said on the day it was engraved.

No battery

Nothing to charge, nothing to pair, nothing to fail. The tag works on the one day it actually has to.

From PawTag to Supernormal

PawTag and Supernormal are the same company. PawTag was the original name of the tag, and Supernormal is the name we trade under now. The old site at pawtag.com redirects here.

Nothing about that changes anything for you. Your tag, your account and your pet's profile are exactly as they were. You sign in at a different address, and a fair amount has been added to the app since: lost-pet alerts to owners nearby, reminders for vaccinations and worming, and Nova, our AI vet for the questions that come up between appointments.

If you have an older PawTag, there is nothing you need to do. It scans and works the way it always has.

No. There is no battery and nothing to charge. When someone scans your tag you get a notification telling you where the scan happened, so you learn where your pet was found. If you want to watch your pet's position on a live map, you want a GPS tracker instead.
We still own pawtag.com and it redirects to supernormalpets.com. Old bookmarks and links still work - they just land here instead of on the old site.
